A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US...
We are Bryan and Michele, parents to 9 wonderful children and Papa and Ama to an ever-growing number of grandchildren we lovingly call "Ama-kids." Bryan likes to tell people that we have a mixed marriage; he graduated from the University of Texas and I am a proud Aggie, class of '89. We left Texas for a job in Minnesota for 23 years, but life, family and friends drew us back to the great state of Texas. We may not be Texans by birth, but for sure, Texans by choice! We both come from military upbringings and continue to proudly support our family and all those who sacrifice that we might have the freedoms to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Our dream to own our own farm came true in 2020 and it has been the perfect place to relax from the busy-ness of life, watch our grandchildren (Ama-kids) grow and raise our wonderful Wire Fox Terrier dogs and puppies. It has always been our desire to raise our family and animals in a wholesome way that supports the best health possible. With a love and passion for cooking, Michele's homemade cooking extends from people to animals; she even makes our own dog food and favorite dog treats!
Feel free to contact us if you’d like to come by; we'd love to get to know you and what your passions are. If you spend any time at our farm, we hope you'll come to learn ours.

Michele Shaver
“Chief Farm Manager”
With 30+ years of homeschooling experiences & teaching ESL to international students, Michele is no stranger to learning herself. She is a mother to nine grown children & “Ama” to an ever-growing number of “ama-kids”. Her dream of cultivating nature & living off the land was fulfilled in 2020, when the family found the perfect place to settle down & dig deep roots.
Although life sometimes has a way of abruptly changing course, Michele can still be found doing an assortment of things on the farm, including but not limited to raising and training dogs & puppies, welcoming guests to The Hideaway (Airbnb), cooking and baking fresh-milled bread, cultivating her garden, & reading to fuel her love of learning.

Bryan Shaver
“Chicken Whisperer”
After working decades in the medical device industry, Bryan retired & took on the challenges of farm life despite being diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. His examples as a faithful provider & strong laborer are being passed down to his children & grandchildren.
Bryan liked to spend his days around the farm taking care of the chickens & ducks, making conversation with the goats, and listening to his records. He is terribly missed, but we are thankful to know that he is whole in body and mind & with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ethan Shaver
“Chief Tech Officer”
Born with an innate sense of everything technological, Ethan is the resident tech mastermind at Hidden Acres Farm. His use of a miter saw & other power tools has also benefitted the farm in more ways than one. Ethan has managed goats, pigs, horses, dogs & puppies, etc. and “mans-up” during the hard times on the farm.
In his down time, Ethan loves to read , draw, and lift weights. His Atlas-like physique is called upon more times than not to help move something on the farm at the request of Mom.
